Katrina Tyson
Katrina Tyson has over 18 years of experience in the pharmaceutical industry and over 4 years in independent consulting. Fuelled by a passion for improving access to medicine and healthcare, her journey began at GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) Pharmaceuticals, where she held various leadership roles across the supply chain and operational spectrum. For 4 years, she served as the Africa Route-to-Market Director, where she championed innovative solutions to make essential medications more readily available across the continent.
Katrina’s dedication to public health led her to spend several years working with organizations like CHAI (Clinton Health Access Initiative), ARC (Africa Resource Centre), and H4D (Health 4 Development). She played a key role in shaping and implementing impactful supply chain transformations. These initiatives, implemented in partnership with ministries of health and major donors like USAID and the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, have helped strengthen public health systems across Africa.
As a skilled and experienced advisor, Katrina has a proven track record of leading successful supply chain optimization projects. Her approach emphasizes building strong cross-functional teams, fostering collaborative partnerships, and designing efficient operating models. She has a knack for translating her deep technical knowledge, gained through years of hands-on experience in Europe and Africa, into practical, pragmatic solutions that empower public sector supply chains. Katrina’s passion lies in taking best practices and transforming them into tangible improvements that make a real difference.

Matt Tyson
Matt Tyson is a seasoned private-sector healthcare leader, with specialism in developing markets and public-sector customers. He has broad and deep experience in complex, multinational organisations and complex low/middle income countries. A Molecular Biologist and Bioinformatician by training, Matt is an Enterprise Business Leader by practice, and a passionate believer in social development.
Matt’s 14 years in GSK (GlaxoSmithKline) and 6 years at Abbott Rapid Diagnostics were in leadership positions for regions with hundreds of countries and billions of dollars in sales responsibilities. This experience has made him a ‘whole-enterprise’ thinker, with end-to-end perspective – from design and construction of manufacturing facilities to Procurement, Manufacturing, International Logistics, Sales and in-country Distribution. Matt has led teams in all these areas. His most recent role in the private sector was several successful years as Supply Chain Director for the EMEA (Europe, Middle East and Africa) division of Abbott Rapid Diagnostics, where he was responsible for the supply of over a billion infectious disease diagnostic tests into the African public sector system, during his tenure – including during the COVID19 pandemic response.
A technical expert in a broad range of Supply Chain topics, with Pharma, Medical Device and FMCG Industry experience, Matt is based in South Africa and intends to dedicate the rest of his career to supporting healthcare evolution in low/middle income countries by taking best-practice solutions and adapting them to pragmatically deliver for the unique contexts of each country. He believes that partnership and collaboration are the best ways to make truly lasting and sustainable improvements.
